FUSSEN, GERMANY

Each place we visited with our 28 person Rick Steves Tour group just got more and more unbelievable. The medieval town of Fussen, known as the violin capital of the world, is not far from the Neuschwanstein Castle, which was the inspiration for the Walt Disney castle at Disney World.

Despite the rain, my mom and I took our umbrellas and hiked up to Mary’s Bridge to get a view of the castle, and you know what? I think the rain and clouds gave it a unique look that you wouldn’t have gotten on a normal, sunny day. So I call it a blessing in disguise!
